Submit your unofficial high school or college transcripts to regent.edu/items.
Upon submitting your application, you will receive an email requesting authorization for Regent University to obtain your official transcripts from your U.S. degree-granting institution. International transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES, AACRAO or NAFSA approved agency.
Step 3: Submit Your Government-Issued ID

If you hold a valid industry certification through COMPtia or EC Council, you may be eligible to receive up to 9 free academic credits toward certain academic courses through our Cybersecurity program at Regent University. In order to be eligible for possible academic credit, you must be enrolled in the relevant B.S. in Cybersecurity program. Is a cybersecurity degree worth it?
Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing field. According to Cybersecurity Ventures’ prediction, there will be 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs across the world in 2025. “Cybersecurity graduates are in high demand since there are many open positions that companies wish to fill,” said Dr. Deva Henry in an interview.
The annual mean wage for Information Security Analysts was $107,580 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 2020.3 “Demand for information security analysts is expected to be very high, as these analysts will be needed to create innovative solutions to prevent hackers from stealing critical information or causing problems for computer networks,” said the BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook. In fact, it projects a 31% increase in employment for such analysts from 2019 to 2029. To put this in perspective, the average growth rate for all occupations is 4%.4
According to the handbook, “most information security analyst positions require a bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field. Employers usually prefer to hire analysts with experience in a related occupation.”
Regent equips you to enter the workforce through both knowledge and practical skills training. Maximiliano “Max” Gigli, a graduate from our B.S. in Cybersecurity program, secured an internship at Google in Zurich, Switzerland in 2019. He now serves as an Administrative Business Partner at Google.
Earlier, Regent student Nathan Mowry was among the first in Virginia to earn the new Cybersecurity Public Service Scholarship from the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was one of 25 recipients who received $10,000 per semester in exchange for future service in the field.
And Lucinda Brooks, a graduate of our M.S. in Cybersecurity program, is part of the inaugural cohort of the Cybersecurity Talent InitiativeTM. This initiative is a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership aimed at recruiting and training a world-class cybersecurity force. Brooks’ program placement is with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration where she will help protect the agency’s networks against cyber threats.
Are there any prerequisites for this cybersecurity program?
There are no prerequisites for the B.S. in Cybersecurity. We will gladly provide any training you need to be successful in the program.
How difficult is a cybersecurity degree?
The B.S. in Cybersecurity program includes introductory courses that will help you gain a better understanding of the field. This includes Introduction to Information Systems and Introduction to Programming. You will also study courses like Digital Forensics, which focuses on the recovery of evidence, Systems Security and Network Defense and Security.
